Rules and privacy

This is the short version.The full competition rules and privacy notice set out everything that governs entering, the draw and how your details are handled. Please read them before you enter.

The competition

  • Entry costs R20. One entry gives you one numbered chance in the draw.
  • Entries stay valid for the whole competition. The draw takes place at the end of the competition, live on alex fm. The closing date will be announced on air and on this page.
  • One prize per person. Six prizes go to six different people, so buying more entries improves your chance of winning — it cannot win you two prizes.
  • You must be 18 or older to enter.
  • Your entry number is issued once your payment clears. If payment does not clear, no entry is created and you are not charged.
  • Prize values are stated at true retail value. The four appliance prizes are separate prizes for separate people, not a bundle — together they total R9 546.
  • This is a lucky draw. There is no skill element and no judging.
  • Winners are contacted on the mobile number used to enter.

Your personal information

  • We ask for your name and mobile number, and optionally your area. Nothing else.
  • We do not ask for your ID number, your address, or any banking details.
  • Your details are used to run the competition and to contact you if you win. They are not sold, and not shared with sponsors for marketing.
  • You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, at any time.
  • Information is stored securely and access is restricted and logged.
Watch out for scams.We will never ask you to pay a fee to claim a prize, and we will never ask for your banking PIN or a one-time password. Anyone who does is not us.
