Competition
The rules,
in full.
Everything that governs how this competition is entered, drawn and paid out. If something here is unclear, ask us before you enter.
1. Who runs this competition
The competition is promoted by Amalang' Amahle Holdings (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2015/108803/07, in partnership with Alex FM and the sponsors named below.
The competition may be operated through an associated non-profit entity. Where that applies, the promoter of record and any authorisation under which the competition runs will be stated here before entries open.
2. Who may enter
- You must be 18 years or older.
- You must be resident in South Africa.
- You must enter using a South African mobile number that you control. Prizes are awarded on the number used to enter.
- Directors, employees and immediate family of the promoter, Alex FM and the sponsors may not enter.
Entering means you accept these rules and the privacy notice. If a declaration you make when entering turns out to be false — your age, for instance — the entry is void and any prize may be withheld or reclaimed.
3. How to enter, and what it costs
Each entry costs R20 and gives you one numbered chance in the draw. You may buy more than one entry.
- Complete the entry form with your name, mobile number and area.
- You receive a reference immediately. Keep it — write it down or screenshot it.
- Pay using that reference. Accepted payment methods will be confirmed here and announced on air before entries open. The sponsors named above supply prizes and are not payment points.
- Your entry number or numbers are issued once your payment is confirmed. Until then you have a reference but not yet a chance in the draw.
If your payment does not go through, no entry is created and you are not charged. Entries are valid for the whole competition — they do not expire month by month.
Lost your reference? Enter your mobile number at my entries and we will show you what you hold.
4. The prizes
6 prizes with a total value of R79 546. All values are true retail values, not rounded up.
| Prize | Value |
|---|---|
| R50,000 in business equipment | R50 000 |
| R20,000 in start-up stock | R20 000 |
| Hisense 36L microwave | R2 999 |
| Field-bar mini bar + ice bar | R2 799 |
| Philips breakfast combo — Air fryer, kettle and toaster | R2 249 |
| Philips steam iron | R1 499 |
The two headline prizes are awarded first and second. The four appliance prizes are not ranked against each other — they are of equal standing and are allocated by lucky draw, not by order of merit or by when you entered.
Prizes are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. Where a specific item becomes unavailable, we may substitute one of equal or greater value.
5. One prize per person
A person is identified by the mobile number used to enter. Entries made at different times on the same number are treated as one person. Deliberately entering on several numbers to get around this rule voids every entry involved.
If fewer people enter than there are prizes, only as many prizes are awarded as there are entrants. How any remaining prizes are dealt with will be confirmed here before entries open.
6. The draw
- The draw takes place at the end of the competition, live on alex fm. The closing date will be announced on air and published here.
- Only paid entries go into the draw. Unpaid and abandoned entries are excluded.
- Entries are closed before the draw takes place, so the pool cannot change while it is being drawn.
- This is a lucky draw. Winning numbers are drawn at random from the paid entries. There is no skill element, no judging and no assessment of entries — every paid entry has the same chance as every other paid entry.
- The draw is final. No correspondence about the outcome will be entered into, other than to correct a genuine error.
We keep a record of every entry number in the draw and of the result, so that the draw can be checked afterwards. If the automated draw is used, the method commits to a random seed before the draw and publishes it afterwards, so anyone can confirm the result was not chosen after the fact.
7. If you win
- We contact you on the mobile number you entered with.
- Your first name, surname initial and area may be announced on air and published by us and our partners. Your full mobile number is never broadcast.
- You may be asked to show identification to confirm you are the person who entered and are 18 or older.
- Where and when prizes are collected, and how long you have to claim, will be confirmed here and explained to you when we contact you.
- If a prize is not claimed within the period we announce, we may award it to another entrant drawn in the same way.
8. Your personal information
We ask for your name, mobile number and optionally your area. We do not ask for your identity number, your address or your banking details. What we do with your information, how long we keep it and how to get it removed are all set out in the privacy notice.
9. If something goes wrong
If your payment was taken but no entry appeared, or you believe an entry or a result is wrong, contact us on Carolinet@amalangamahle.com or WhatsApp 067 427 1776 with your reference. We keep records of every entry and every payment and will check.
We may cancel or suspend the competition if it cannot be run fairly. If that happens, entries paid for and not yet drawn will be refunded.
These rules are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
